🎴 About Proxy Cards

What are TCG proxy cards?

Proxy cards are high-quality reproductions of trading card game (TCG) cards. They are designed for casual play, playtesting, cube drafting, and personal collection. We produce proxies for multiple TCGs including Magic: The Gathering (MTG), Pokémon TCG, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece TCG, Lorcana, Flesh and Blood (FAB), and Star Wars Unlimited.

Our proxies are NOT official products from Wizards of the Coast, The Pokémon Company, Konami, or any other TCG publisher, and should never be represented as such.

Are proxy cards legal to use?

Proxy cards are perfectly acceptable for:

  • ✅ Casual play with friends and playgroups
  • ✅ Commander/EDH nights and kitchen table Magic
  • ✅ Playtesting new deck ideas before buying real cards
  • ✅ Cube drafting
  • ✅ Personal collection and display
  • ✅ Pokémon casual battles and collecting

However, proxy cards are NOT legal for sanctioned tournaments of any TCG — this includes MTG FNM/Grand Prix/Pro Tour, Pokémon Regional/International Championships, Yu-Gi-Oh! official events, etc. Always check with your playgroup or event organizer before using proxies.

Which TCG games do you carry?

  • Magic: The Gathering (MTG) — Singles, dual lands, Power 9, Commander staples, Modern/Legacy staples, foils
  • Pokémon TCG — Base Set classics, vintage holos, modern chase cards, booster packs
  • Yu-Gi-Oh! — Popular archetypes, staple cards, collector favorites
  • One Piece TCG — Leaders, rare pulls, popular characters
  • Disney Lorcana — Enchanted cards, key characters
  • Flesh and Blood (FAB) — Legendaries, Majestics, staple equipment
  • Star Wars Unlimited — Showcase cards, leaders
  • Riftbound (League of Legends TCG) — Champions, Spells, Followers from Riot Games’ newest TCG based on the League of Legends universe

New cards and games are added regularly. Can’t find what you need? Contact us for custom orders.

Why do people buy proxy cards?

The TCG hobby has become increasingly expensive. A single MTG card like Underground Sea can cost $500+, and a competitive Pokémon deck can run $200+. Many players and collectors turn to proxies because:

  • Cost savings — Build any deck for a fraction of the price
  • Playtesting — Try before you buy the real cards
  • Protecting valuable cards — Sleeve up a proxy instead of risking your $1,000 card
  • Accessibility — Play formats like Vintage or Legacy without spending thousands
  • Collecting — Own reproductions of rare, out-of-print cards

🖨️ Print Quality & Materials

What is the print quality like?

We use 350gsm German black core card stock with advanced printing technology. Our cards feature sharp, vibrant colors and accurate art reproduction. We offer three quality tiers:

  • S Grade (Premium) — Our highest quality. Virtually indistinguishable from originals when sleeved. Recommended for Commander, display, and collectors.
  • A Grade (Standard) — Excellent quality for everyday play. Great balance of quality and value.
  • B Grade (Economy) — Budget-friendly option, ideal for playtesting and casual games.

What card stock do you use?

We use 350gsm German black core card stock — the same type of core material used in high-end playing cards. The cards have a smooth finish and are designed to be similar in thickness, weight, and flexibility to official TCG cards. When sleeved, the feel is nearly identical to authentic cards.

What finishes are available?

  • Regular (Normal) — Classic matte finish, just like standard TCG cards
  • Foil — Realistic holographic foil layer that catches light beautifully
  • Holo — Holographic stamp/pattern effect, popular for Pokémon-style cards
  • Etched Foil — Textured foil finish similar to MTG Commander Legends etched foils

Do your cards pass the bend test / light test?

Our S-Grade cards closely mimic the feel and appearance of real cards. However, as proxy cards, they are not intended to pass authentication tests. They are reproductions meant for casual use. We do not encourage any attempt to pass proxies off as authentic cards.

Do the cards look good in sleeves?

Yes — this is where our cards really shine. When placed in standard card sleeves (Dragon Shield, KMC, Ultra Pro, etc.), our S-Grade proxies are virtually indistinguishable from authentic cards. The colors, art reproduction, and text clarity are all excellent.

⚖️ Legal & Ethics

Is it legal to buy proxy cards?

Purchasing proxy cards for personal use (casual play, playtesting, collecting) is generally not illegal. However, it is illegal to sell proxies as authentic cards or use them to defraud others. Always be transparent with your playgroup about using proxies.

Can I use proxies at my local game store?

Many LGS allow proxies for casual Commander nights and non-sanctioned events. Sanctioned tournaments require official cards only. Always ask your store or event organizer beforehand.

Are proxies accepted in Commander/EDH?

Commander is the most proxy-friendly format. Most playgroups accept proxies, especially for expensive Reserved List cards. Always have a Rule 0 conversation with your pod before shuffling up.
